ABOUT DIBRU-SAIKHOWA NATIONAL PARK and DIBRU-SAIKHOWA BIO-SPHERE RESERVE

Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and Dibru-Saikhowa Bio-Sphere Reserve is a serene and green with teeming wildlife,where nature has retained its glory at her best.This unexplored forest expanse of enchanting beauty and lush green vegetation is a true ‘wilderness’.This is the third largest national park in Assam,covering an area of about 340 km2 as core area along with about 425 km2. of buffer zone. Situated in the Tinsukia District of Upper Assam, within geographical coordinates of 270 35’N to E 270 50’N and 950 10’N to 950 40’E,the DSNP is having the Brahmaputra on its Northern side of river Lohit on the southern, eastern and western side giving a new look of river island to the National Park. The National Park is located in the flood plains of river Brahmaputra and Lohit at an altitude of 118 m above MSL. The park is situated in the belt of tropical monsoon climate with an annual rainfall of 2300-3400mm
